This website

The website at www.rebootnepal.com is a set of static pages. It does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not ask you to create an account. Like any website, the servers that deliver it keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and the pages requested) for a short period for security and reliability.

The platform

Requesting a label, tracking a device, and partner and administrative tools all live on the Reboot Nepal platform, which is a separate application with its own account system. When you create an account there, its own privacy notice applies. In summary, the platform collects:

• your name, email address and the shipping address the label is issued for;
• a description of the device you are sending, and later its test results and status;
• for partners, organisation details and the placements they record.

This information is used to send labels, provide updates, produce acknowledgement letters and keep the device record accurate. We do not sell donor or partner information, and we do not share it with third parties except the carrier that ships your parcel and the service providers that run the platform.

Data on donated devices

Every storage drive in a donated device is fully erased at our warehouse before the device is tested, repaired or reused, and a fresh operating system is installed. Drives that cannot be erased are removed and physically destroyed. Nobody opens or browses the files on a donated device at any stage.

You remain responsible for backing up anything you want to keep and for signing out of accounts such as iCloud, Google or Microsoft before shipping. A device with Activation Lock or Find My still enabled cannot be reused.

Children

We never publish names, photographs or precise locations of the children who receive devices. Placements are recorded at the level of a partner organisation and a school or community. Partners agree to the same rule.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct or delete your donor information at any time by emailing donations@a5it.com. We keep a minimal record of devices received so the public totals stay accurate, but that record does not need to include your name.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top will change with it. Substantive changes will also be mentioned on the platform.
